This weekend taster course is over two days and is a great introduction to pottery. The course is aimed at complete beginners who want to have go.

The course is practical and introduces you to a range of hand building, and decorating techniques and you will have the opportunity to try working on the wheel. You will work in our pottery studio making a range of ceramic forms which you will learn to decorate and prepare for firing. You will edit your pieces choosing up to two for glaze decoration and firing. The two-day course allows time to try a range of creative and practical techniques and gives us time to ‘bisque’ fire in between classes.

This is the one to take as a taster if you are not sure you want to commit to a longer class.

The course is taught in a really relaxed, creative and supportive environment.

Day 1 is the making day and starts at 9.00am and finishes at 1.00pm*

Day 2 is the decoration, glazing in preparation for final firing and starts at 9.30am and finishes around 12.00pm*

Your work will be ready for collection three weeks after your last class. This gives us time to dry and glaze fire your work. Due to current Covid restrictions, please see our website for collection dates and times.

*Please note these times are from January 2021.

This course costs £98 per person is suitable for complete beginners and for people who need a refresher who haven’t practiced for a while. Materials and firing costs are included.
